Objects Are Closer Than They Appear by Carol Culver Rzadkiewicz

About Carol Culver Rzadkiewicz

A native of Georgia, Carol Culver Rzadkiewicz grew up in Fairburn, a small town south of Atlanta, where she began writing stories when she was ten. She would then sell her stories to her father for a quarter, and since she was quite a prolific writer, she managed to earn enough to treat her brother and sister to the Saturday matinee each week, as well as keep herself supplied with paper and pens and, occasionally, a new Walter Farley novel since she loved horses and, as she admits, The Black Stallion, The Island Stallion, and The Blood Bay Colt were major influences on her budding talent at the time.

A graduate of the State University of West Georgia, Carol earned a master’s degree in English and is now an instructor of English for the University of Phoenix, both at the local campus in Lafayette, Louisiana and for the university’s worldwide online educational program.

Her stories, essays, and articles have appeared in a variety of journals and periodicals, including Santa Fe Writers Project, where her novelette, Remembering Della, was a finalist in the 2008 literary awards program; Helium, a research website; Toasted Cheese; Zine5, where she is a regular columnist; The New Review; The Eclectic; and The Sun.

In addition, she was named Author of the Month for May 2006 by South Lit, a journal of contemporary Southern literature; and Brown Paper Publishing is currently serializing her collection of short stories, The Second Coming and Other Stories, in its literary journal, Predicate, after which, if all goes according to schedule, Brown intends to release the collection in a stand-alone edition.

Carol Culver Rzadkiewicz has also won several writing awards, including the 2003 Award for Fiction at the Writers’ Guild of Acadiana Conference; and her first full-length novel, Mustang Summer, was released this past January by Publish America.

Objects Are Closer Than They Appear was originally a short story which has now been expanded into a full length novel for publication by eBooks-UK.
