I Smell the Blood of an Englishman

“Fe-fi-fo-fum! I smell the blood of an Englishman!”

This is a black comedy / drama set in Edinburgh during the annual Fringe Festival where Malachi Doune, the Vampire, and Laird of the Doune estate, is terrorizing the tourist population. Especially the English.

Malachi has carried his hatred throughout the centuries since the battle of Bannockburn, where he became a fledgling of the Undead.

Doctor Julian Greene, a doctor at the Whitman Institute in London dedicated to study of the supernatural, is sent to Scotland after the recent report of several murders involving English tourists whose bodies, entirely drained of blood, mirrored a similar spate of murders taken place in London in the last year.

Pete Casey and Eddie Bryant from the Braintree Ornithology Club are two innocent bird watchers caught up in the middle of it all.

Mix them all up and you have a story that is not just your conventional ‘vampire’ story. You have a story with a surprising angle and some twists and turns that will raise your brow…

Dr. Julian Greene sat alone contemplating the recent reports of brutal murders in and around the Scottish capital, all committed inside a five mile radius of Edinburgh Castle. He had arrived within the last month from London, where less than a year ago a similar spate of killings had taken place. The modus operandi was always the same.

Victim’s throat slashed from the jugular vein all the way round to the nape of the neck. Massive blood loss, and in some cases no sign of blood remaining in the body, or at the scene of the crime.

He knew it to be the work of the same monster who had stalked those poor souls in London. This was no ordinary serial killer at work. This was pure evil.
